We feel fortunate that The Most Reverend Oscar A. Solis has been appointed the tenth Bishop of the Diocese of Salt Lake City.

With God's grace and much gratitude, The Catholic Foundation of Utah is pleased to announce the newly established endowment in honor of Bishop Oscar. The Most Reverend Oscar A. Solis Endowment will provide equally for:

  • The Cathedral of the Madeleine's Good Samaritan Program
  • Catholic Community Services

Types of Endowments

The Catholic Foundation of Utah receives, manages and administers three general types of endowments:

Permanent Endowments

Permanent endowments designate gifts to be invested; only appreciation on the gifts is used.

Temporarily Restricted Endowments

Temporarily restricted funds allow both gifts and appreciation on gifts to be used in certain cases or after a stated period of time.

Unrestricted Endowments

These funds are available for immediate and direct program support, as well as support for Foundation operations and liabilities.
