Sacramental records are some of the most important records created in the Catholic Church because they document the faithful's pilgramge on Earth. To help pastors, parish administrators and staff with sacramental record keeping, the Diocese of Salt Lake City promulgated a sacramental records policy in August 1994. This policy focused on accress to sacramental records. The following revised version of the Sacramental Records Policy of the Diocese of Salt Lake City reflects the many changes in canon, civil and particular law, as well as best record keeping practices, that have ocurred since the first promulgation of this policy. Some topics covered in this policy include: ownership, required registers, care and preservation, notations, attestations, adoptions, access and certificates.
